This book is a psychological thriller that shifts between a lot of different things and follows a dark, suspenseful story. The story explores heavy themes like trauma, childhood fears, forgiveness, and whether people can ever truly escape their pasts. This adds a thrilling and psychological complexity that most thrillers lack. Therefore, with that all being said, I think a lot of horror fans like myself would really enjoy this book because it was great from start to finish, and I really loved how well written it was as a thriller/suspenseful book due to the amount of suspense and plot twists this book had. This all really made the book worth reading. Not to mention, the characters are also great; they’re all very well written and have so much depth that gets unravelled throughout the story, and that just added onto everything and made reading the book feel 10x more entertaining. This book did a great job at setting a suspenseful and thrilling tone throughout the entire story and this helped give the main characters character development that helped the story greatly. This book creeped me out, had me invested, had me shocked, and had me thinking. Which is why I love this book so much because it gave me variety. Reading this book satisfied a lot of interests I have while reading books, so this book is definitely one of my favourites. With all that being said, this book keeps the readers on edge with a slow unpacking mystery that mixes things like past trauma with present issues. So, if you love mind-bending psychological books, this novel is for you.
