How to Become a Library Board Member
Are you passionate about public libraries and their important role in our community? The Oshawa Public Library Board has vacancies for its upcoming term.
Library Board members are appointed by the City Council and must be at least eighteen years of age, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, as well as a resident of Oshawa. They cannot be employees of the Library or the City of Oshawa.

Library Board Meetings
All Library Board meetings are on Thursdays unless otherwise indicated.
Members of the public are invited to view the open section of the meeting. The meeting agenda will be posted to the Library website at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
The next regular meeting of the Oshawa Public Library Board will be held in person on Thursday, October 15, 2026, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Boardroom at the McLaughlin branch located at 65 Debwewin Miikan (formerly Bagot Street), Oshawa, ON.
