The Friends of the Library promotes and enhances Oshawa Public Libraries' services through fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer engagement.
Fundraising
The Friends of the Library hosts two used book sales each year in the McLaughlin Branch Auditorium. Shop a selection of used books and magazines at all four branches, and support the Library!

Ramp access to the book sale is available on the west side of the building (Queen St.). You can also access the book sale from the Library's Children's department, with a few (stair) steps down to reach the Auditorium.
Please plan for the weather. Opening day is our busiest day, and there is often an outdoor line at the auditorium ramp as customers wait to enter the sale area. We recommend dressing appropriately for the conditions and allowing extra time to pay for parking if needed.
Donating Books to the Friends of the Library
Drop off your gently used book donations at the McLaughlin Branch (65 Debwewin Miikan) Shipping & receiving entrance during regular business hours. The Shipping and Receiving doors are locked. Please use the call button so staff can remotely unlock the door and give you access to the dedicated donations shelving.
