Did you know you can register for a library card online as well as in person?
If you live in Ontario, you can get a free membership to the Oshawa Public Libraries. To register for a Library card, visit a branch near you. Please bring proof of identity, including proof of address (e.g., driver’s license, Ontario ID, or a birth certificate and bank statement) and we’ll register you for a personalised card. If you have a card but it has expired, simply visit any branch with proof of identity and address, and we'll be happy to update your membership.
Don’t have a library card? Can't visit the library?
Register to access our Online Library
If you already have a library card, you can use it to access our Online Library right away. Just use the number written on the back of your card to log in.
If you don't have a library card yet, you can register for a virtual card and use the card number you’re issued to access our Online Library.
Your virtual card number will give you six months of access to online learning courses, eBooks, music, movies, and more! At the end of six months, your virtual card will expire. To continue using library services, visit any one of our four locations to upgrade your virtual membership to a physical library card! If you wish to continue using only our Online Library, please give us a call at (905) 579-6111 to renew your card.
Need additional help or have questions? Contact us at (905) 579-6111.
