Bull Shift by John J. De Goey is a book that talks about and explores the world of finance and investing. It also describes all the myths people fall for in the world of money and some tricks in investing.
This book is really interesting because it explains a ton of financial topics in a way that's very easy to understand. It's also not as boring as a textbook about financial topics, which is awesome. De Goey uses real-life examples to show how people can get tricked and fall into traps in the financial world, financial advisers, and social media. It made me question myself about how you should be careful with your money and financial advice from people.
A few things I didn't enjoy about the book were parts when De Goey kept repeating points which made it feel like a drag on. The book is also very focused on the Canadian financial system, so a few parts of the book probably aren't as useful to folks who aren't from Canada.
Bull Shift is a book I'd recommend to anyone interested in finance and to all who are going into investing and want to be careful with beginner mistakes, who to trust, and how to handle their money.
Overall, Bull Shift is a great book for advice and investing, but it isn't for everyone, especially if you're good at investing.
