I really enjoyed reading this book as a kid. My friends were telling me that this was a very good book and that I should buy it, so I did, and when I bought it, I never thought it would be this interesting to read. I liked the layout of the book with the text and pictures on the pages, further explaining and showing the story, and it also gives the reader the idea of what the characters look like and the situation they are in. The idea was to make the book look like someone's actual diary rather than a novel. The book featured a lot of shenanigans that occurred with a kid named Greg, who experiences a lot of trouble in his middle school. The humour behind the book was also reflected in the movie that came out three years later, with actual actors portraying all of the characters from the book. I thought the book was way ahead of its time in terms of comedy, because this book inspired so many people online and eventually got so popular the book eventually became a series. I would recommend this book to some kids and teenagers aged 4-15 who just want a quick laugh. The movie is also a great alternative, and I also consider giving it a watch with your kids. The movie does have some changes to the story, but it is still interesting to watch if you didn't feel like reading the book. Although Diary of a Wimpy Kid is an old book, it's still a very nice read!
