The book The Overlord Protocol is filled with action and sci-fi that tells the story of Otto Malpense, a gifted student at the elite H.I.V.E. academy for young aspiring criminal masterminds. One day, Otto's best friend Wing gets news that his father died, so the two set out to uncover the truth of his death, only to find themselves in a dangerous conspiracy involving a deadly new weapon, hidden agendas, and enemies who will destroy anyone in their way just to control the future.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a thrill, start to finish, filled with action, fighting, and plot twists that kept you on your toes. The author's writing was clear, easy to understand, and made sense. The story was never confusing and did not have any weird, enjoyable plot twists that ruined everything. There was never a dull moment. Everything that happened was thought out and clear without hesitation.
Otto and Wing had an amazing friendship. Otto was smart, not relying fully on brute force to win, and Wing was loyal, calm, and incredibly skilled in combat. Both of them made a great team. Their teamwork and friendship made the story even more enjoyable.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sci-fi and action stories. It should probably still only be read by teen readers since some aspects of the book are quite violent, such as blood and gore, but it's all very mild. This book was an awesome read and never made me feel bored.
