Book Review: Inuit

By Erinn Banting

4 Stars

This book’s main focus is on the Inuit culture and communities. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I can proudly say this book did a great job of educating me on a lot of different things about the Inuit community. For instance, there’s a page that dives into the kind of foods that they eat and even has a recipe section which teaches you how to make the food they eat, so if there is anyone out there who loves cooking and wants to expand their horizon, this would be a great book for you. Not only that but there were also many other things, like what weapons they would use to hunt or how they made their clothing. All of these things can really teach everyone something and can give people new perspectives on things, like it did with me. This book did a great job of catching my attention and made me invested in the stories of the Inuit community. I can’t spoil too much, but all I can say about this book is that it was great, and it taught me so much that I didn’t learn in school, and it just made my interest in the Inuit community skyrocket. The author did a really great job at diving into the history of their community and really shining a light on their story and how they overcame many obstacles and lived their lives to the fullest. I would give this book a 4 out of 5. Even though it was a very short story, it still did a great job of keeping me interested.
