Book Review: Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking

By Susan Cain

4 Stars

The book Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain elaborates on how introverts are being overlooked for their potential. The author properly explains the difference between an introvert and an extrovert and teaches readers about the outstanding qualities that make introverts the greatest and most innovative leaders of the world we live in. The author includes many stories of successful introverts who have made it through despite societal pressure.

It is a delightful book for self-development and helps some readers view themselves from a different perspective. As an introvert myself, I have been told as a child to be more talkative and outgoing. But reading this book has changed my perspective and mindset about my personality, leading me to use my strengths as an introvert to my advantage. It gives wonderful tips on public speaking, working on myself little by little, and the power of working in solitude. It is very well-researched, thought-provoking, and has a compelling charm to it. The author reaches out to the readers to see things in a positive light and to stay true to ourselves no matter what. I feel that it is a wonderful book which truly made me reflect and learn a bit more about myself.
