Book Review: Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man: 17-21

Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man: 17-21 is a collection of fun and expressive one-shot stories that Tatsuki Fujimoto created before his masterful work of Chainsaw Man. Many of the stories being quite strange at first, with these stories not exactly being for the faint of heart and having subject matter that could be viewed as intense, though all the stories are extremely entertaining, with expressive and strong outstanding character designs and personalities along with beautifully written dialogue for a few one-shot stories that were created.

This collection of stories really illustrates the outstanding gift of entertainment that Tatsuki Fujimoto has. Though some of the one-shots seem outlandish or over the top, I genuinely believe that chaos is the whole point of Tatsuki's writing. At least to me, when I read his works, I feel like I am always surprised or caught off guard by every chapter and page. For a few more notes, I should say that most of the stories, along with being wild and fun, are quite comical in a sense, with many of the premises and plots having a well-developed sense of humour, with many of the jokes landing for me in the right way. Although some people may not find them as amusing as I do, I believe others will at least find some joy in the outlandish humour that Tatsuki Fujimoto has. My overall aspect of this collection of stories is that I would recommend Tatsuki Fujimoto before Chainsaw Man to readers who would like to be surprised, but overall, I would recommend it. 4.6/5
