The Inheritance Games is a book about a high school student, Avery Grambs, who was leading a difficult life until one day she ends up getting the entire fortune of Tobias Hawthorne, a billionaire she doesn’t even know, instead of his four grandsons Grayson, Jameson, Nash, and Xander inheriting his wealth, but she did. Why? She herself doesn’t know. But now she must live in the estate with Tobias Hawthorne’s family for a year. Unable to kick them out and unable to leave, she is stuck with a family that she doesn’t know and a family that somewhat hates her for ending up getting all the inheritance. That should’ve been rightfully theirs to begin with.
Ms. Jennifer Lynn Barnes’s writing style was fast-paced and engaging. I felt as though the characters in the book were also very well written with their own captivating personalities, flaws and their own motivation, allowing me to be able to understand and connect with them on a higher level. Making the story much more engaging and fun to read.
The scenes were all beautifully written with not too much description about every small thing, but a decent amount. Allowing me to imagine some parts and follow the story.
Lastly, the biggest surprise for me was that each chapter was actually exciting and fun to read. I didn’t get bored at any point of the novel and, for once, didn’t want to put the book down and instead wished to keep on reading till the end.
