The Seven Year Slip follows the main character, Clementine, a young woman grieving the loss of her beloved aunt, who inherits a magical apartment that can transport her seven years into the past. There, she encounters a charming young man named Iwan, and their connection sparks a whirlwind romance. However, their love is complicated by time travel and the challenges of the past and present. Clementine must decide if love is worth the risk, even if it means facing the pain of loss and uncertainty.
This book was written so beautifully, and the characters were amazing. I enjoyed this so much more than I expected. Clementine is a compelling mix of strength and vulnerability. She's dealing with a lot of grief and mental health struggles, but she's determined to move on with her life. Iwan is just as amazing. He's sweet, charming, and incredibly supportive of Clementine. I loved reading about his dream of becoming a chef and the way he cared for Clementine. It was heartbreaking to see him wait seven years for her, unsure if she would ever return his feelings.
The author's writing is beautiful and evocative. The characters are complex and relatable, and the romance is both sweet and heartbreaking. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a great read. It's a book that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
