Since I always start my reviews with a trigger warning, this book contains assault, depression, and panic attacks. If any of this content makes you uncomfortable, you definitely shouldn't read this book. The book's main theme had to be realism, and the whole book had a home-like feel. Not necessarily cozy, but definitely comfortable in its own weird way like a peppermint tea. The book follows 3 P.O.Vs from 3 different girls, Imogen, Danella and Rinn. These are our main characters, which are developed in a very compelling way. In fact, they're all so well developed I relate to all of them in certain times. They all have their justified emotions for the things happening in their lives simultaneously. At first, depending on how you see the book, it starts off pretty slow paced, with not much going on, and then the story adds on. The setting of the book is in our current modern day, but more accurately, it is in 2020 or 2021 in Chicago or L.A. It also explores the main characters' personal backgrounds and upbringings that they can relate to.
The whole book makes you kind of wish for the best in the multiple scenarios throughout the whole day the book takes place in. It feels like you're watching a realistic Netflix show about some young adults and teenagers like myself. The book is kind of shorter; it took me a whole day to read between 2-5 hours, depending on the breaks I took. The age rating for this book is 15 and up for the certain elements younger readers can't really relate to. This is definitely a book to read if you're feeling kind of spaced out or generally not aware in certain senses.
