The book Twisted Love by Ana Huang narrates a love story between a young, rich, and handsome CEO and his best friend's sister. The relationship contrasts with a stone-cold and grumpy Alex Volkov and a joyous and ambitious Ava Chen. When her brother Josh leaves to pursue further studies, that leaves Ava to stay with her brother's handsome yet arrogant best friend. As time passes, Alex develops feelings, but instead of love, it is a crazy obsession. Behind this love story are two traumatic tragedies that heavily impacted the two individuals in different ways. Ava pretended to be happier while Alex turned colder. Will their love help each other break free from their traumas or discover disturbing secrets of their past?
This book is extremely descriptive, but I wouldn't say it's a good book and was rather a waste of time to read. The plot is very predictable, and the storyline is cliche. As a reader, I want to be surprised and shocked about the twists, turns, and endings. That is the only time I would like to be proven wrong, but this book states otherwise. A good book should be able to make it impossible for a reader to predict the ending. The ending should be the best part of the book, in my opinion, as I feel that it captivates the reader to proceed to the next book. I found the book confusing, but the ending was predictable. I felt that despite wonderfully describing the characters, they didn't make anything sense. Overall, I would give this book three stars.
