Book Review: Warriors: Fire and Ice

By Erin Hunter

4 Stars

While reading Fire and Ice from the Warriors Saga by Erin Hunter, I came across a lot of different emotions. The characters made me feel the overall significance, as well as the plot of the novel and what Erin Hunter represents throughout the read. I felt like I was entering a world of thrilling heroism, loyalty, and even war in a variety of action-packed ways. A world where I must figure out where the darkness lurks behind hidden shadows. The action in the novel made me feel like I was one of Erin Hunter's Warriors myself, figuring out who may be the bad guy or who may be the hero. It is a very wild and intriguing action thriller that got me thinking, "What if this one character is hiding something? Then again, they did show an act of bravery and loyalty in that one chapter." As I continued reading, the novel became so much more intriguing and exciting that I felt myself switching to my detective mode. The characters had many interesting and thematic characteristics, which had many clues as to what their intentions were, whether they may be a secretive bad guy or a loyal warrior. The characters in the novel are all cats, which gives the reader an awesome overview of animal nature when looking at the ways of forest cats, including how they tend to care for one another and their idea of survival skills. The Warrior Cats influenced a lot of 'detective' and 'investigator' emotions, looking for clues through the symbolism and imagery I came across while reading the novel, as well as that thrilling excitement which made the book a total page-turner! I couldn't stop reading. I was eager to figure out who the bad guy was. By the end of the novel, my thoughts were all like, "Oh my goodness, what a sweet twist!" Overall, I think this is by far a great book for anyone: action, mystery, animal-survival-life, war, engaging, and thrill-seeking when it comes to looking for a great new book to read! I absolutely enjoyed it. Fire and Ice by Erin Hunter is very exciting and engaging, and definitely got me into my 'detective-investigator' mode!
