5 Stars
Wings of Fire: The Lost Continent by Tui T. Sutherland is the 11th book in a currently 15-book series called the Wings of Fire series. It is about different dragons fighting a new evil every five books.
This particular book, however, is about a dragonet named Blue (a SilkWing) (SilkWings are a type of dragon, just like HiveWings), who undergoes many changes in his life in a short period of time. Blue, always adamant about following the rules even when they didn't make sense, must choose whether doing the right thing or following the rules is more important when his life is turned upside down. Throughout his journey, Blue focuses on one end goal: saving his sister Luna from the clutches of the HiveWings and Queen Wasp (the HiveWing queen). On the way to his end goal, he meets and gathers new and old friends and potential enemies. For instance, Swordtail (also a SilkWing and his friend).
Some parts of the book that I especially liked included the part where Blue and his friends fought against other dragons, as the scenes included a hefty amount of detail, which makes you feel like you're really there. Furthermore, I like the parts where Blue feels what it feels to be other dragons, such as the HiveWings. A part of the book that didn't exactly appeal to me was the poor behaviour of the HiveWings towards Blue.
I would recommend this book to children and teens for its fantasy, its fiction, and its unescapable captivation. All in all, I give this book 5 stars for outstanding writing and mystery.
