Graphic Novel Review: Womanthology

By Multiple Artists

5 Stars

I don't recall any actual trigger warnings in this feel-good set of comics; in fact, I'm not sure I actually recall any huge negative conflict at all in this book. The main genres of this book are EVERYTHING, well, minus horror. The book collection itself felt cute, with many feel-good and relatable comics or even short writing entries to myself, the authors, and even others! This book is definitely perfect for Women's History Month or even Women's Day, with all of the main characters and authors of the comics being women!

The book itself feels like a home in a very positive way; in fact, it feels like hot chocolate with cute little marshmallows! It was also very interesting to see from over 100 authors' perspectives with themselves, or even the characters in the book. This set of comics also gives huge tutorials on certain things to even make your own comic! It has drawing tips, writing tips, and even brainstorming tips. My personal favourites have to be the hand drawing tutorial and the writing conflict tutorial! The characters and comics in the book also have a variety of different art styles. If you're a more artistic person, you'll probably like the variety! There's a feeling of love and energy you can tell when the artists and authors put it in their comics and/or writing. The age rating, in my opinion, is 13 and over because the stories vary from super cutesy to kind of serious at times. This book definitely had to be my most heartfelt and comforting read of 2023!
