Movie Review: Spider-Man: Far From Home

Directed by Jon Watts

5 Stars

This movie picks up After Avengers Endgame, with Peter Parker just wishing for a break, Spider-Man: Far From Home begins. He journeys to Europe with friends for a summer vacation, but of course, things do not go down as planned. Called upon to act as Spider-Man, he suddenly has to balance the life of a superhero with enjoyment. The movie trails Peter as he tries to protect his friends while battling his internal struggles of growing up.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is a comical, witty, action-packed movie showing humour and emotion perfectly. Tom Holland has surely breathed new life into Spider-Man and, in doing so, has portrayed what it means to be a teenage hero—filled with excitement and tension. There are laughs and yet some poignant moments that see Peter trying to come to terms with what is happening in his life.

In the movie, MJ is brought to life by Zendaya—elevating their chemistry with Peter further. The visual effects were rich, and it was just so cool to watch the action sequences set in European locations. I also think the villain was really unique and unexpected, bringing a fresh challenge for Spider-Man.

So overall, I think it was an excellent sequel—really fun, very exciting, and immediately emotional. I think the film does a great job of portraying Peter's development as a person and as a hero while attempting to remain true to who he is. Anyone who loves Spider-Man or superhero films in general needs to go and see this one!
