Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse follows Miles Morales, a teenager living in Brooklyn, trying to navigate the usual ups and downs of teenage life, when he's bitten by a radioactive spider. As the new Spider-Man, Miles, with the help of Spider-Beings from various other parallel universes, work together to stop Kingpin, with the fate of the multiverse ultimately in the hands of Miles Morales.
Miles: "Can I return it if it doesn't fit?"
Shopkeeper: "It always fits…eventually."
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is arguably one of the best movies of all time, from its plot, characters, animation, soundtrack, attention to detail, humour, and so much more. Miles Morales' character is made so well, and it is one of the most accurate depictions of a teenager. His awkward, witty humour, unforgettable dialogues and navigation of the usual struggles that many of us encounter as teenagers are portrayed in a very accurate, relatable way. His character development is so powerful, especially in the scene when he makes his own suit, followed by the infamous "Leap of Faith".
I love the way they introduce each Spider character because it's done in a natural way that fits the format of the movie; however, they are established well, so you aren't confused and spend half of the movie matching up backstories with their respective characters.
Each character is so distinctive, and you learn about them in a natural way that doesn't seem out of place, as it is done efficiently and blends in seamlessly with the plot, which is something that can go unnoticed simply because it was skillfully executed.
The comedy and jokes that are littered throughout the film are done so well, especially because they match each character perfectly and create a very noteworthy dialogue to remember each character by. The animation of the movie is beautiful, and I love it more every time I re-watch it. The colour grading, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere are captured in such a captivating, memorable way.
Even if you don't remember the exact plot of this film, it's impossible to forget the feeling you had while watching it due to the arguably perfect animation, execution, characters, plot, soundtrack, humour, and more.
