The Oshawa Public Libraries offers rooms of various sizes to suit the community's needs. The primary purpose of these rooms is to provide space for cultural, educational and community activities.
Use of rooms for Library programs, co-sponsored programs and other Library purposes will take priority over other uses.
Meeting rooms cannot be used by external groups for the following purposes:
- personal activities or social functions
- the solicitation of business for profit, including direct sales of products and services, or for fundraising
- church services, Sunday school classes, or formal religious meetings
- programs or events that are similar in nature to Library programs.
Please provide the purpose of the room rental and any specific requirements at the time of your booking, e.g. piano rental, AV equipment, etc.

Locations
The McLaughlin Branch at 65 Debwewin Miikan (formerly Bagot Street) offers the McLaughlin Auditorium with a capacity of 130 people in a theatre-style arrangement. Other seating plans may reduce the maximum capacity.
The John Aker Northview Branch, located at 250 Beatrice Street East, offers the Nonquon Room, which can accommodate 80 people.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be provided one week (7 days) prior to the date of booking.

Insurance
The Library requires proof of a minimum of $2 million general liability insurance naming both the City of Oshawa and the Oshawa Public Library Board each as an additional insured. In place of providing a certificate of insurance, eligible contract holders can purchase insurance through the Library at the time of booking.

For booking enquiries, please fill out and submit the following form. A staff member will respond to your request within 2-3 business days during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please note we cannot accept room rental requests within 48 hours of the event date.
