Please be aware that we generally do not order items for our collection more than two months ahead of publication date. Priority is given to suggestions that are currently, or soon to be, published.

To suggest titles for purchase please log into your library account and complete the form “submit a suggestion” found in the left-hand menu on your library dashboard

You can track the progress of your suggestion within your account in the Suggested Purchases page. You must be logged into your account to view this page.

Due to the volume of requests we receive, we cannot offer notification of any suggestion by email or phone.

You can suggest up to three titles per month.

While we do value your input and consider each suggestion carefully, we cannot buy every suggested title.

Should we purchase your recommended title, we recommend that you periodically check our catalogue at oshlib.bibliocommons.com as the suggestion could be ordered closer to its date of publication. Once at item appears in the catalogue, you may place a hold on it.

Please do not request future releases from popular authors (e.g. Freida McFadden, Louise Penny, Emily Henry, Nora Roberts, James Patterson). OPL will already be purchasing these titles for the collection. If we already have books by these popular authors, you can assume we will order the next ones.

Films and shows from specific publishers such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Paramount+ are not available for libraries. Occasionally, these studios release shows on DVD; the library will try to order copies. Other publishers have embargoes that prevent libraries from purchasing copies of new releases.

While ISBNs are not required, including this information will help library staff determine the specific title you are requesting. ISBNs are 13 digits and start with 978. They are typically on the back cover and available on publishers' and booksellers' websites.
