Book Review: A Novel Love Story

4 Stars

A Novel Love Story follows the main character, Eileen Merriweather, a hopeless romantic who finds comfort in fiction happily ever after. She wants to go away for a while and plans to go to her annual book retreat. On the way, her car unexpectedly breaks down, and she finds herself in Eloraton, the town from her favourite series. She soon realizes the town is frozen in time, the unfinished series. She finds herself in a bookstore with a grumpy owner who loves irritating her.

I really enjoyed this book; it’s my first book by the author. The storyline was super interesting, and this was a page-turner for sure. The main character, being a romance book lover, made it somewhat relatable, as if I were seeing myself in her. I did not expect Anders to be who he was; I thought he was a publisher or something. They were perfect for each other and complemented one another so well. The plot was fairly fast-paced, and I was excited to see what happened next. I was happy with the ending, and I love Anders.

I’d recommend this book to people who like Grumpy x Sunshine romance novels and those looking for a variation from typical romance books. Overall, A Novel Love Story was a cute book, and I want to continue reading books by the author!
