Wheel of Wrath, written by A. A. Vora, is the second book in The Fifth Realm trilogy. It follows the trio of Aina, Meizan and Aranel, as well as Himalia, a princess of Mayani. After the events in
the Void, and the raging war between Mayana and Malin that ensues, they all pursue their own goals; Aina seeking revenge against Zenyra, the one responsible for mother's death; Meizan, who, as the new chief of his clan, tries to ensure the safety of his people; Aranel fighting to fix the broken system by recalibrating the ascension limit; and Himalia trying to seek an agreement between the two sides, and a solution to minimize destruction. The four teens, fighting for these goals, cross paths and create alliances in the middle of the bloodshed.
In one of my previous reviews, I talked about the scenery, storytelling, and character relatability of the previous book. Let's just say that this volume only gets better. First off, the scenery is fantastic to the point that when Aina ends up in Narakh (the world for the evilest souls), A. A. Vora described the place so well I got nauseous just by thinking about it. Next, the storytelling got way better with all the characters' arcs and goals. This also ties in with the character relatability, where each of the main four are so different, yet all feel familiar. All in all, a beautifully crafted novel.
In conclusion, I would recommend this book to those that enjoy fantasy, action, and mythical creatures. Really, The Fifth Realm series keeps getting better and better, and I'm excited to read the third and final book.
