Movie Review: Mortdecai

Directed by David Koepp

5 Stars

Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ewan McGregor star in the comedy film Mortdecai. After a famous painting was stolen, suspicious art dealer Charlie Mortdecai was chosen by an old foe to get it back. Questioning his foe, Mortdecai ends up taking the job, not only for the money but to keep his high-maintenance wife happy. With the help of his servant, Mortdecai must come face to face with people that are desperate to get their hands on this one-of-a-kind painting.

This movie is a well-balanced mix of comedy and action. The film Mortdecai has jokes said left, right and centre, and is nonetheless hilarious. I really like the story of this movie since it is different from all the other comedy movies out there. I have no dislikes about Mortdecai because it is an all-around good movie.

This is definitely a movie that can come in handy if you need a good laugh or are just in search of a good comedy movie. Johnny Depp is a personal favourite when it comes to actors. Every time he portrays a character, I end up laughing so hard my head hurts or feeling for the character so much that it almost feels like you're in the movie yourself. I recommend this to any fans of comedy mixed with a little bit of action, as well as if you are looking for a laugh. This movie made me laugh non-stop, and with that, I would rate this movie 5/5 stars.
