Movie Review: Isle of Dogs

Directed by Wes Anderson

4 Stars

This movie has become one of my favourite films to watch. I loved Wes Anderson's films and his animation style, such as Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom and The Grand Budapest Hotel. The scenes and dialogue are good, as well as the characters (the dogs), you'll recognize some of the actors' voices (which include Bill Murray, Bryan Cranston, and Jeff Goldblum).

This film is great to watch with kids or family around just to enjoy a sweet comedy and entertaining movie. It's a typ

e of film where you paid more attention to and feel connected as your following along.

Isle of Dogs also includes Japanese dialogue which works great and is something different to watch.

I've also enjoyed the animation and visual style of the film because once again, it's something different and consists of Japanese culture/cinema, stop-motion framing, and swift movement, which is easy to follow along as well. Also, this film touches on themes such as environmental issues and political issues in its own story.

The film leaves many emotional, funny, and surprising scenes to watch; as well as leaving an important message for viewers. So, if you're looking for a film that is something more whimsical, unique, and different then I highly recommend it. But if you're more of a cat lover, then maybe don't watch it.
