By Shelia Roberts
4 Stars
I gave One Charmed Christmas by Shelia Roberts four out of five stars because it was actually a really sweet and feel-good read. It’s the kind of book that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and hot chocolate, especially around the holidays.
The story takes place on a Christmas cruise, which I thought was a fun and different setting. It follows a few characters, but the main one is Kathleen, an older woman going through a tough time. Even though she’s way older than me, I still found her story interesting and kind of inspiring. The other characters are all dealing with their own problems, too, and their lives sort of connect in little ways throughout the cruise.
The best part of this book is the cozy, happy vibes it gives off. It felt like watching a comforting Christmas movie. The writing isn’t hard to follow, and the characters are pretty likable. There are some moments that are emotional, and others that made me smile.
I didn’t give it a full five stars because some parts are a little predictable, and a few of the storylines didn’t really grab my attention. But overall, I still liked it a lot and finished it pretty fast.
If you’re really into light romance, stories about second chances, and holiday cheer, then One Charmed Christmas is definitely worth checking out. It’s not super deep, but it’s really enjoyable.
